Audit #004: D' Granules Cafe (Saranay, Bagumbong, Caloocan)

Saranay, Bagumbong, Caloocan—ang init! It's too hot in the metro and I can't take it anymore, so I decided to go to the nearest cafe in my area. I’ve been seeing this place for the first time, and I was told they just opened last April 12, 2026. Without further ado, I am here at D' Granules Cafe.

At first, I was thinking: A Cafe Americano worth 150php? Is it justifiable, or is it just like ordering flavored milk? Check the audit below to find out.

The Non-Negotiables (The Dealbreakers)

  • Wi-Fi Stability: 15 Mbps. It seems they have a speed ceiling, but it’s still manageable for basic work.

  • Power Access: Meron, but it’s limited to the couch area. You’ll have to snag that specific spot if you need to stay plugged in.

  • Coffee Quality: Smooth. It has a natural sweet taste to it. Curious about the beans? They use 100% Arabica. At 150php for 3 espresso shots, you definitely get what you paid for.

  • Comfort, Hygiene & Security: Padded seats for both buttocks and back, so it's comfortable for long hours—but the seat width is too short, so your legs aren't fully supported and you can feel the weight on your feet. The CR is located outside and you have to go around, but it is clean and—of course—#MayBidet. Warning: There are no CCTVs installed inside, so leaving your gear to go to the CR might be a challenge for solo goers.

The Vibe Check (The Experience)

  • Parking: Street Parking. You have to park beside the road, so park at your own risk. It’s Saranay, so no worries about towing, but still be mindful of your vehicle.

  • Noise Level & Staff: The cafe is located in a busy area with lots of traffic, so external noise is inevitable. However, they play nice music, so it’s not too annoying. The staff are superb—the owner and barista are colleagues from a cafe in Saudi/UAE, so the service standards are high.

  • Price-to-Quality Ratio: Solid value. I initially thought it was pricey, but considering the 3-shot quality, it’s worth it.

  • Ambiance: Definitely a good one. It has a "Woody and nature" vibe—very aesthetic for your feed.

Bonus: The "Stay" Factor
They aren't strict with how long you stay. I chatted with the owner, and he’s very accommodating—he trusts that "valued customers" naturally know when to make space for others. Plus, it's a unique one-stop-shop; they have grill dine-in and a carwash section, so you can enjoy your coffee while your car gets a bath.

Verdict: B-Tier (The Professional’s "Carwash" Hub)

Why B-Tier? The coffee quality, stay, and staff hospitality are A-Tier. However, the security gap (no CCTVs + CR outside) and limited power access keep it from being a perfect workstation. Great for a casual grind, just keep an eye on your laptop if you're alone!

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert in the coffee world and this is just my point of view as a paying customer who needs WiFi and good coffee at times.
